The fact is that the vast majority of people that vote for Democrats have no interest in listening to any talk radio show, Conservative or Liberal. They only listen to FM music stations. They can't stand listening to the news on FM stations for a mere five minutes each hour. This is why they are so uninformed and use dumb comments when they give their opinion. The same goes for TV. They are too busy watching sitcoms and American Idol.
As for Air America not being able to get sponsors, please, the big companies sponsor the shows that will make them money. To them, the profit is far more important than politics.

I'll steer clear of biased statements and say this: the extreme left does not resonate well with the American public (and that is a huge understatement).

I, personally, am a conservative, but I'll say this: the problem with Democrats isn't their ideology. The problem is with their leadership. Democrats keep pushing extremists into leading roles, which turns people off rather than leading them to tune in and listen.

If Democrats and Liberals put more moderate people in front of the mic for talk radio, reported the news in a fair and unbiased manner, and stayed entertaining without repeating the same tired platitudes, they would probably be successful. Heck, I'd listen just to get a different point of view if they would lay off the vitriole and just engage in intelligent debate.

What "Air America" doesn't get is that to have a successful radio show it must first be entertaining. Liberals and conservatives and people who couldn't care less about politics listen to Rush, Sean, Glen,.. et.al. because they are entertaining. These guys are also generally upbeat and positive. The Liberal shows are all doom and gloom. Who wants to hear about how global warming is going to kill the planet, and our president sucks, the economy sucks, and America sucks over and over? None of which is true. It's depressing and boring besides.

It really emphasizes an issue when someone calls someone else 'dumb' or 'stupid.'

I believe that it is because liberals tend to be more shrill and cannot help but being unkind, even though liberal democrats claim to be the more compassionate of the two parties. Another reason may be that conservatives use facts to bolster their arguments rather than appealing to the emotions of their listeners. Opinions can vary but people want to hear the truth and base their opinions on facts and not propoganda and hate-filled diatribes.
