Communism can only last as a productive society if fear as used as a motivation to produce as opposed to hopes and dreams.

Yes of course, communes exist all over America with everyone sharing the work and sharing the wealth. The most well known are religious based communes that really do work. They out preform their neighbors and are successful financially. I think that for communism to succeed it has to be in small groups where everyone knows everyone else and everyone works for the betterment of the group. Communism that most people think of was just a totalitarian government with a planned economic scheme that simply will not work. The guys who were in charge were not doing it for the good of society but for their own gain. We have to remember that in places where communism took root people had been treated very badly by their former rulers and communism was a step up for the vast majority of people. Inequalities were addressed, the average person had a generally better life. The problem is that they were run by dictators who were more concerned with staying in power than in helping their people. I think the best possible solution is small groups of people banding together to help each other in a capitalistic system. This has happened a lot in the USA and Europe with much success

There you liberals go with that crimes against humanity nonsense.
A good hit from a 25 kilometer asteroid would do wonders to the present political arena.
We need more crimes against humanity not less. Science has developed the Avian Flu to wipe out the Equatorial brown people. That will cut the global population in half. Stop the devastation to the tropical forests and replenish the oceans. All in one year.

Theoretically, yes. Realistically I don't think so. We've all heard of the saying "power corrupts" right? Well, unfortuantely that is true. In communism, the leaders get absolute power over the people. History is replete with examples of how that is abused more than used to good. Even if it starts ok, the tranfer of power from one man to the next will eventually land the scepter to a corrupt individual so eventually, it will not work.

Absolutely!!! The problem with Communism as we know it, is corruption. If run correctly Communism would be the best of all political systems. You have nothing to worry about. Your bills would be paid and you would have a place to live with food on the table. Your only responsibility would be work.

Probably not because a party with one ideology rules while their will always be people they disagree with that needs to be silenced. The oppression and corruption of a one-party system is unsolvable.
