well if she makes him happy then that is good enough for you to be happy for him, when i was 15 my dad moved his girlfriend all of 2 weeks into our house, at the time he was 44 and she was 25, i really didnt quite like the thought at all, i gave her a very hard time, now i am fixing to turn 25 and have 2 kids of my own and she is grandma to my girls, thats why i say if she makes him happy then let that be all you need to be happy for them both!!

I think you should question what your dad is doing? There really is a huge diffrence in life styles between a 22 year old and a 42 year old. Your dad is taking advantage of this girls youth to feel better about himself getting older. Im sure your dad is a great guy and its a HUGE ego boost to have a girl that young interested in you, but he should realize the message he is sending you. Would it be ok for you to date a a man 20 years older then yourself? Its almost the same thing. Maybe you can sit down with you dad and tell him how you feel.

I dunno. I'm 26 and I'm dating a 41 year old woman. I think it's cool, because I'm not looking for the immaturity I find in so many girls around my own age. I'm 26 and I've already been through high school, the military, a marriage, a child, and a divorce. Now I'm in college and going through a sex change , plus my mother passed away about a year and a half ago. So, I'm not the typical 26 year old, and she's definitely not the typical 41 year old. She says the same thing about her own age. She says most women in their 40's act too old for her. She says their too boring and too uptight. She's very active for her age and likes to party and have fun. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. We actually mesh pretty well.

My kids dad is doing the same thing. He is like 43ish and he is also dating a 22 year old. The worst part about it is that my kids have to listen to the on going jokes about him. I am sure it hurts them a lot. But I think that the dad should have also thought about what people would say, and how it affects his children. When my kids want to talk to me about it and ask questions and such, I just keep telling them... don't take it personal, he isnt doing it to hurt you, just remember "as long as he is happy, you need to support him" its really hard for them to understand and they do hurt... but I am sure "ONE DAY" they will as so will you... just be patient and understanding.

I think your father wants to feel younger...I guess. And most of the time girls date older men because they are more mature and there is more of a "man" in them then younger guys or guys at the same age as the girls.
I think you should wait and see how it really is (how the girl is!). Anyways, I wish you and your father luck! =)

I think your dad is having a mid life crisis. 22 now that is really digging. Has your dad ever been a responsible person? He needs a reality check. If he needs a woman one more his age would suffice.

I once dated a man who was 15 yrs older than me and his son was 5 years younger than me. It was hard for me because he chose his son over me and then he also treated me like a child. I have heard that there are some relationships like that, that work out. If your father is happy, try to be happy for him. Also try to get to know her. That might help you. Good Luck

As long as they both have a mutual feeling
for each other age shouldn't be an issue, the
consistency in their caring for each other is
the only factor, try and be happy for your dAd,
and if they both seems to have a beautiful
relationship, then give them your support,
you showing that you are for their happiness
will help them keep their partnership in good
spirits ..... As long as they treat each other
with respect then, well, be happy for your
dAd ......
