I live near Detroit and it seems that you can't find a body of water (and I mean ANY body of water, even in the distant suburbs) that doesn't have a least one black person fishing in it. I never see them in boats but they are always fishing off land. Some are actually dressed quite nicely. Why is that?

I mean they don't seem to be fishing because they need to be fishing for food, but they are out there in suits and dresses. When I mean ANY body of water I am taking ANY body of water, drainage ponds, etc.

I live on a barrier island on the coast of Louisiana. The island is connected to the mainland by a bridge. I actually have to cross about 7 bridges in a 40 mile stretch. Every one of them is filled with black people fishing! Also, every available stretch of marsh is taken up by black people fishing! It's actually quite sweet because the majority are fishing as a family! It's a great way to spend time with your kids! I'd like to see some of us caucasians learn from that.

How do you know that it's not for food? HAve you walked over and asked them? All the black people I know fish to eat the fish. The black people I know don't sport fish, meaning fishing for fun and then throw the fish back.
