We should be tagging all the politicians - they're the one's wasting all our cash on ministerial airliners and trips to Texas ranches!

The policy definitely reeks of big brother, but I dunno as far as the practice of it. Initially, I was totally against it. Thought it to be a total invasion of privacy for someone who may be breaking laws, but minor ones compared to some of the other criminals, ex-cons, etc. who are wearing ankle bracelets and the like.
But then the parent side of me kicked in. As the father of two little boys, I'd want to make sure they were being provided for. Even if the majority of parents skipping payments are fathers, they shouldn't single them out. It's pretty easy to include mothers in this as well. Once again, moms get the easy out whether they're doing their part or not.

big brother sucks, but so do absent fathers...
my dad left before i was born and never paid a cent of child support...left my mom when she was only 21 to take care of me by herself. he told her if she tried to get child support that he would kidnap me. my mom never tried to collect, which pisses me off! But i think the same "tagging" should go for absent mothers too. they should BOTH be responsible for the kid.

Sounds like a fantastic idea to me, I live in an area where women pop out kids like you wouldn't believe. I had to walk past a group of around 40 of the little bastards yesterday and would love to see somebody go after the big bastards that made them.
Hope that helped.

Doing something about dead beat fathers is a good thing. But tagging them is not the way to do it.

think that's bad? try this, they are trying pass a law whereby EVERYONE living in or entering the UK must give a DNA sample (at the moment, the police can get a sample of your DNA if you get arrested for anything, even if it was a false arrest (i.e the 'crime' had nothing to do with you and they release you without charge!) and they could keep you on file whether you are guilty or not.. i think this f@cking sucks!!

I think all absent parents should be tagged. There are too many of them that leave, pau little or nothing & think thats ok coz "they have bills of their own to pay" .....well HELLO you know those kids you created? well they are your bills too !

That is unfair, equal treatment should work both ways, as you say, no mention of absent mothers. It is not right
