I think Israel is fighting for it's own sake. That we may in some way benefit from such a fight is secondary in nature. Where Israel is concerned it is a fight for their very right to exist at all, and given the latest statements coming from Hezbollah about intentions to widen the war, it is going to be a long fight indeed. The same goes for Iraq. They are fighting for the right to determine their own destiny with a free government of their choosing. Again although we may benefit from this, the average Iraqi is not thinking about America's best interests. Nor should they be.
Additionally: While I don't care who listens to what radio show, mentioning Rush, or Al Franken, or any other host is sure to garner a wave of silly rhetoric every time. In turn the issue that you are actually concerned with gets lost in all the posturing to show what great Conservatives or Liberals people are. However if that was your intent, by all means carry on.

The only thing I've ever believed that Limbaugh said is:
>....I have my doctors Viagra.....Let's get a room.
>....It's OK cuz O'Reilly will tell the world I was set-up.
Israel is fighting Hezbollah for Israel's sake.
Iraquis are fighting Al Qaeda for Iraq's sake.
Get real.

I disagree. Everyone fights for themselves. It may benefit the US a little but I doubt that they are saying "Remember the Americans"

Hezbollah and Al Quaeda are terrorist organizations. No matter who opposes them, they blame the US, so we have become pawns in these war games.
