I got a speeding ticket this morning. I have my own money to pay for the ticket and would like to avoid an argument. Should I tell him about it?

It's not a big deal, it is just he said something to me over the weekend about speeding.

I understand why you don't want to, and you're not obligated to...I wonder if he would tell you if he got one? And if so, would there be an argument over his ticket? If you don't think he would tell you, then I don't see why you should feel you must tell him. But it is better to be open and honest in a marriage. But, I always like to turn things around and see how the other partner would act in the same or similar situation(s).

Put it this way and I am not kidding. If you can't tell your husband about the speeding ticket to avoid argument then your marriage is very fragile. Life is not perfect, you and your husband will make mistakes throughout life. Don't expect either one of you to jump on the other when things go wrong. You need to support each other during these times and not argue. That is the least expectations from a healthy marriage
Good luck

Hey, many people get speeding tickets... Is he *really* gonna start an argument about it?? (Unless you get speeding tickets all the time - in which case I wouldn't blame him if he got upset.) If you think he is, it's probably better for you to just pay the damn thing, he doesn't need to know.

oh, yes dear. your insurance rates could be involved. and it is better to tell the truth, BUT tell him that you have the money to pay and that you will not LISTEN to him argue. you made a mistake in speeding and YOU are a grown person and will take care of the ticket. Be a Big Girl. I alway say " put on Your Big Girl Panties"

Tell him. When the renewal policy for the insurance comes, the premium will be increased because of the ticket. He will call and ask the company about the increase. They will let him know about the ticket. So, he will find out now or later. It's better to be honest now. Trust me.

Are you going to be able to keep him from receiving the mail that will be mailed to you regarding the ticket. There will be lots of them coming for defensive driving and attorneys offering their help to clear the ticket. So, if you can keep these from getting to him, then you might try not telling him. On the other hand, if you keep this from him, then he'll wonder what else you might be keeping a secret, which implies that you are a liar.

Ask yourself this would you want to know if the shoe was on the other foot? And he will find out because it will reflect on your insurance and it is better to tell him now than have him find out on his own later. After supper put on something sexie give him a cold beer and say honey by the way remember you always told me about my driving well today I got a ticket

When it comes time for renewal of your car insurance the ticket will be listed.

If you don't tell him now, he will find out later, and I would be P'd if I found out later.

Of course not!

That way you can be a liar.

Much better than having a mature relationship.
