There are certainly jobs like that. They may require particular skills (ability to transcribe audio tapes, translate language, do research, summarize readings, etc.) and equipment though (computer, high-speed Internet connection, telephone, etc.). There are lots of such jobs. People can make more than a few hunder per week that way actually.

There are certainly jobs out there that fit your description. Tho problem is that there is so many people jockying to get those jobs.
When you are applying for a job at a certain place you are only up against a certain amount of people within a certain radius (driving distance).
With stay at home jobs you are competing against people from all four corners of the world.
I was placed in a situation where I couldn't work anymore at a very good job (health reasons) and I needed to find something.
I went the Home based business route and have had some pretty good success. Like in any business there will be more failure than success, but you will never know unless you try.

right now i am a stay at home mom, and i have looked into every aspect and oppurtunity to be able to make money while I am at home, from stuffing envelopes to medical transciptionist, and it seems like i have to be able to invest too much money or more money that I have at the time to actually be able to make it work.
