I am replacing my 5 year old laptop. My old one still works so I hate to throw it away, but I doubt it's worth much at all, if anything. Can I donate or is there someone that buys old used laptops?

Donate to a school or church. You get a tax deduction for the value of the laptop. Get a receipt.

I would do one of two things. You can either put an add in the newspaper for a free used laptop, and donate it to a student. Or you can find someone who has one of those tree shredders and turn it into chitlin. Both are good options, and at times I am torn between the two, lolol.

Bless you! You're a good soul. Why don't you donate your old unit to religious missions with active chapters in developing countries? Or you can donate it at your local church or public school. But if you need the money, try ebay. Good luck!

There are lots of small computer shops that will pay cash for used laptops, or just sell it on eBay. You will be surprised at how much a used laptop is actually worth. They hold their value much better than desktop systems.

Use it as an electronic picture frame.

Load it with family photos, set the screen saver to show them, and set the puter on a table somewhere. I've even seen people put a picture frame around the screen.

Cheers!

There are plenty of organizations that love to take donations of computers. Check with local school system or a computer shop. They can tell you.

You can do both in Ohio. You can either donate it to a college that has computer repair classes, or sell it to a computer fix-it store.

You can donate it to non-profit organizations, or see if some parents are willing to buy it a toy or trainer for little children.
