I'm afraid the answer is no.
Once the mail is sent it gets sent out from your ISP's Mail server to the recipients Mail server (If they use a different ISP).
Your best bet is to think of a follow up email that will negate the first. Something like "Haaa Haaa. Did I have you going there?"

I believe only AOL has that option. Once it gets to their mailbox it's pretty much a done deal unless you make another email telling them to delete the old one... if you need to you can always lie and say that there is a virus in the first one and opening it will cause a virus ;)

Not all all, there is an option to recall mail, but all that does is send them an email asking them to ignore the earlier one.

if you sent it using MS Outlook, there's a chance -- i've recalled emails here at work, but never from my home PC... it may only work on the same network, but it's worth a shot

No. It's like sending a letter in the mail. You have to get to there mail box before they do.
