Well I like Harry Potter because they are well written and keep my attention peaked. I'm fascinated by this "magical world" that lays so near the nonmagic, but isn't seen or believed in by "Muggles". I enjoyed "meeting" Sirius Black and Remus Lupin and seeing how their generation had the same issues that Harry's generation is dealing with currently. I like that this story actually takes place during the same years that I was in school *in fact their seventh year would coincide with my senior year in high school, which makes me roughly Harry's age, go figure*. Personally, I like the escapism that is the Harry Potter books. Nice to get out of the reality that is dull real life.

Harry Potter is perhaps the best thing to happen to the world...EVER. Within Harry Potter you not only fine excellent grammar, but also a good plot and developed characters. There is a reason that the author is more wealthy than the Queen.
Within the pages of Harry Potter, one is allowed to escape into a Fantasy world where Dragons, magic, and Werewolves do exist. It is a perfect story for adults and children alike.
Don't use the excuse that 'magic is evil' because there are just some things in life that have nothing to do with religion. Harry Potter is one of them. Accept it at face value and don't pick it apart.
Anyone who doesn't read it or attempt to read it is a moron.

Reading is all about escape. Harry Potter provides the reader with the perfect escape to an entirely new world that is entertaining and fascinating. The story also entails themes and messages that mature readers can pick up and find fulfilling intellectually.

I like Harry Potter as much as I like sci-fi thriller novels. I love an engaging story which provides decent entertainment as against TV or movies.
Personally all this hogwash regarding "the evils of Harry Potter" is just chasing shadows and ghosts where there are none...c'mon guys its just a story. If you are afraid of anything negative it can do to kids...just educate your kids about it then.

I love it. Mainly because of the idea of magic. I think we are all magical beings in that we can create the world around us with our thoughts and feelings. In Harry Potter, the magic comes to life in a different way.
They can make anything happen with a flick of a wand or a spell or potion. Its not so different to how we can haave anything we want if we just use our potential. Also why I am a 'Charmed' addict.

I can't tell you why I like HP for sure. All I know is that I got so attached to the characters in the books. When the 5th book came out and I finally finished the book, I was depressed for a week! I missed the characters something awful...if that makes sense. It's just one of those books that you can loose yourself in and escape reality for a while.

Because it's a good story. I hate reading though so I just watch the movies, & the guy who plays Harry Potter is really hot. But it's a really good story.

I love any author who can create a fantasy world that is very concrete. Rowlings world with wizards and witches has believeable explanations(within the context) very believeable characters and a real nice balance between adventure and human relationships. It's on a par with Zimmer-Bradly's Darkover and C.S. Lewis' Narnia.

I love HP because of the many fascinating, concrete characters (especially Snape, Neville, Luna and McGonagall) and the intriguing and addictive storyline. I also love how every book leaves me overflowing with theories over what will happen, which I can argue over with other HP fans.
