Isn't everyone more security conscious these day?

do not open the door, offer to make a call for help. Offer to look up a number if they have a cell phone, but call the police first and have them on their way to your house, that is what they are there for to handle the unknown, don't risk the life of you, your family, or whomever is in your house with you.

I open the door but in caution. My husband has a red belt in jeet kun do and i can use a sword quite well. Most of the time I dont answer the door day or night because Im a house nudist :)

I never answer the door to anyone I don't know. I don't care if they have something to sell in their hand or if they are mail, female, child, etc. I don't make an effort to pretent I'lm not in because they could be checking to see if anyone is home. I make it obvious that someone is home however I feel no obligation to answer my door to anyone other than the police. If I get a note from my apartment office, I call the office and confirm that they sent it because half the time I don't even know who works here.

I won't open. Opening the door when a stranger knock is usually how scary movies start.

This is a tough one.I have had many encounters with heavenly angels.
the bible says we entertain angels unaware.I live in a large complex and was taking out mt trash one night there was a woman in a wheelchair right outside my door with her face in her lap.I took the trash and felt guilty, scared worried, i came back and i said are you lost? can i help you ? She answered I want company can i come in ? i said no. i came in called 911 and she was gone. I am afraid She was a angel and I turned her away

We would answer the door, but usually have a loaded pistol in hand. Plus the two rotties would be going ape with barking and growling and thatmakes most would be intruders very uncomfortable.

I don't answer the door - often in the day time as well - unless I'm expecting someone. My friends and family know they are welcome any time - they just need to call me and let me know they are on the way.
I'm a bit paraniod, but that's just me!
