IHSS is a government program, In Home Support Services can be found in the phone book under government pages. Your Medicare and/or Social Security should cover all cost of having a healthcare provider come to your home to care for your beloved wife while you are recuperating. Ask your doctor about this! Regards to both of you, get well soon.

Medicare will provide for some Assisted Living programs. Call you medicare rep and ask them exactly what they can provide in terms of Assisted Living....you can usually get a nurse to come in every few days to look after her. Or she needs more round the clock service you may want to looking into renting a room at an Assisted Living Facility.

Just call medicare for more details and how much they will cover.

Social Services. You can even contact the social worker in the hospital where you will be going and tell them the problem. They should be able to help you. Good Luck.

In our state we have home health care workers. Contact your county Social service and see if they can arrange someone for your wife and also to help when you return home. Best wishes

yeah, i agree i would talk to the social worker at the hospital, they know of many programs and can contact and arrange whatever care is needed.
depending upon what type of care she needs you may be able to arrange someone to sit with her, you could contact your local senior citizens to see what services are available in your area, also you could speak with neighbors, friends from church, maybe they can work together and help out, best of luck!

try the visiting nurses group, the would check in on her and you could also contact meals on wheels to help with meals, if all else fails seek help from a local church sometimes the younger kids are looking to volunteer.
