If all we've done in all this time is make a mess of things, what is staying longer going to accomplish? If the goal is to establish a government accepted by the majority of the Iraqi people, it should be able to stand on its own without enforcement by our troops. I think our goverment needs to get its story straight and tell us the real reason why they're still there.
I've never seen any valid justification for staying in Iraq, just vague unsupported claims that "pulling out would be a mistake." Does anyone here even know what they think they're still trying to accomplish? As far as I can see, Negrodeus is the only one with a plausible answer...it's all about money.

There isn't going to be a solution, just more deaths. The Middle East will not accept democracy, their culture will not work in it. All their allegiance is to Islam. We should have slowly started to pull out after we ousted Saddam. We still should get out and concentrate on fixing national problems at home.

Yeah pulling out of Iraq now would be a mistake.
But here again Bush was proven right....just not within the time frame that everyone wanted. Im telling you....."Time will vindicate Bush as a president". Time will show that Bush is making good decisions....its just not apparent right now.

Hillary is moving right for the election. Watch OUT! Do not trust a sheep in wolfs clothing. This is just an attempt to appear moderate. She is still a liberal. She would do the same thing Bill did, against terrorist, when in office, nothing.

Let me explain to you why... notice the price of gas is still climbing... the war effort is still funneling taxpayer dollars into the haliburton coffers....
The Saudi's did say that they would up production... the price of oil is still rising... so basically they are making even more money....
Jet fuel costs money... expendable munitions cost money i.e. bullets, missiles, etc. etc. etcetera....
So... basically if they pulled out now they would be giving up the chance to make even more money....

Yes. We can't leave them in the current state they are in. We started the mess and have to help clean it up.

Yep, we are damned if we do, damned if we don't. Hence, the problem with this war. We were in the same pickle as Vietnam. I mean, how do you help people, when they don't want your help, and they don't view your involvement as help?
