You need what is called GO-5. It is a chrysler coolant similar to the GM Dex-cool coolant. It is a long life coolant.

The only special Antifreeze I know of is DexCool but I'm almost positive that that's strictly a GM thing. Better check with a dealer. I really don't think there is special Antifreeze for your Dodge.

There are 3 common types of anti freeze, and they are differentiated by color. Green? Normal, good old fashioned regular anti freeze. there is also some orange stuff out there, look for antifreeze labeled 'Dex-Cool'. then there's the funky yellow stuff, but that is usually only used in expensive imports.

you can use regular antifreeze. the new formula Prestone will mix with any kind or color presently in your van. The best thing to do is flush and refill the system with new antifreeze.

Regular antifreeze is green in color.
Extended Life Coolant(ELC) is pink.
There is a new coolant that will mix with both, it's orange.

It's VERY VERY VERY important that you do NOT mix green and pink. Bad things will happen.
Any questions, see your trusted mechanic.

I wasn't aware they used a special antifreeze. Check with your local parts store.....i.e. O'Reilly's or Autozone.

Do you feel that hook they have in your mouth pulling? that sounds like a set up to buy it from the dealer.
