Life is just life. It happens. How we as individuals choose to look at and deal with life makes a world of difference in how our lives are and unfold. To be optimistic is to look on the bright side of life, to see the good and the positive in things, people and circumstances. It keeps you happy, young and healthy. To say nothing of the fact that people like you much better. Of course Pessimistic would be the opposite. The difference is like a fresh spring day and nasty cold, windy, overcast day.

Of course it counts for a great deal. I would always back an optimist with some skill against a pessimist with the same level of skill. I am not talking about over confidence but someone who is optimistic at his/her chances of success is always five hundred percent better than someone who has little or none. I am optimistic that you will find this answer satisfactory.........

There's not just life, there's your outlook on life. Two people could live the exact same life and one person could spend all his time depressed about what was lacking while the other person rejoiced in what he had. That other person is an optimist.
