I'm not entirely sure what a soilder is, but I don't get facts from the news at all, because the news is all lies. Newsmen have long since decided that my safety is less important than them making more money. That's why you never see newsmen talk about anything positive. American civiliansare a bunch of sadists who want to see their fighting men in pain, and would rather not hear of the good we accomplish every day.

I never heard him say he was in Vietnam. I never heard him say anything other than he was a journalist.

In any case he is not conservative, he is more moderate from what I can see.

Bye the way are you trying to make the case that if a moderate or conservative pundit had lied they are therefore wrong about everything else?
What about if a Liberal had lied. Are they then wrong about everything else?
What about you? Have you ever lied?

I am sure that is not the only thing that he has lied about or exagerated. But, who in the media and politics has not exaggerated or lied. It is all around us. There is not much we can do about it.
