Wow - a trip down memory lane, to give you a genuine answer . . .
Be careful what you ask for, you may get it !!!

I was raised in an 'upscale', privileged neighborhood in the south, in the 50's. . .
My mother, being a member of the 'neuve riche' class, would not allow such 'wanton, poor white trash' behaviors from her offspring. Keep in mind (before judging harshly) -
My mom was one of those 'depression' survivors, who did not have shoes to wear on the long, dusty walks to school, in Georgia . . . who married for money (banker's family) . . . and who learned thru her own deprived childhood to believe ----
REPUTATION (a good one) was THE most important posession.

Yes, I have learned to forgive her, for her narrow-mindedness;

My children WERE allowed to have lemonade stands, as I never cared what the neighbors thawt, or said - and they spent their earnings on candy, or cookies (in the '70s).

Thanx for the 'memory trigger' ---- warm fuzzies to you. . .

I remember my next door neighbor and I sold lemonade. We used the money to put on a play in her back yard by the pool, and we charged for the play too.

I put the coins in a change jar and forgot about them. I'm now using to pay off Medical school application fees. The rest I just brought myself somethings that my parents wouldn't buy fo me.

I remember selling koolaid, and actually, we used the money we made to buy more cups! We had so much fun selling it that we didn't care about making money.
