What about the SOLDIERS SAILORS & AIRMEN
They are paid for 24hrs a day 7days a week
not 8hrs a day 5 days a week
They get a lot less per week too.

If one of them is 5/10/or 15mins late for muster they do not lose 15 mins pay or get away with it.
They are FINED HUNDREDS of POUNDS
More than a weeks pay.

Police on about £400/600per week
plus extra overtime pay @time&half or double time
40 hrsper week= £10/15per hour

Service personel £300per week
no extra pay @time&half or double
168hrs =£1.78-1/2pper hr,
WHAT HAPPENED ABOUT MINIMUM WAGES

minimum wage =
£5.25p per hour
40hrs @ single time =£ 210.00p
20hrs times 1.1/2 =£ 157.50p
128hrs @double time =£1344.00p
TOTAL for 24/7 pay per week =£1711.50p

So the lowest paid untrained service person on a basic MINIMUM wage should get
£1711.50p

This should increase with various Qualifications,Ranks,& responsibilities
SO WHAT ABOUT THEM THEY ARE FACING
ROCKETS BOMBS BULLETS MINES
SUICIDE BOMBERS ETC ETC.
LETS SORT THEIR PAY OUT FIRST.
The Ambulance or Fire Brigade go on strike
WHO YA GONNA CALL
GHOSTBUSTERS.
Fu-k like hell no you/we call the MILITARY

No! I'm a Fireman and I wouldn't be a Policeman for the money I'm on. They take more sh*t than we do and don't have a half of the fun so they deserve more pay. What gets me is that Senior Officers get a different pay agreement than everyone else in the Emergency Services. That sucks because they are just axe men for the Government being paid to save money by putting our lives and the lives of the Public at risk. They should be replaced by people who care about the people working for them and the Public they are supposed to serve.

I'll put my soapbox away now.

Yes I totally agree - my older brother is a copper and he gets a lot of money compared with someone i know who works in an ambulance - they both provide the same sort of service and should get the same.
By the way my brother agrees.

Whatever they get paid, it's not enough. I've had the misfortune of being put into the back of an ambulance three times, and I have the greatest respect for all members of the emergency services.

Only for equal or similar services. Some services are more technical or delicate and require greater knowledge and ability.

As long as they don't strike, yes. I was so mad at the firefighters for striking. I lost out on 6 months of technical knowledge on my job covering those greedy prats, and we didn't even get a "thanks".

no, that would be silly, they are very different jobs, which need different levels of knowledge experiance and skill, so there should be different pay to.
