i was born and raised in south florida, but moved around a lot as a kid and ended up in a small northern michigan town when i was about 12 years old. i met my boyfriend when i was 14 years old, a freshman in high school. (he was 16)
he moved in with me when i was 15 and we've lived together ever since. when i was 19, we moved to south florida, so i could show him where i grew up.
that was 4 years ago now...i am 23 and we are getting married in a couple months. we can't decide if it is time for us to go back home to be with our friends and family. we love florida. we love being alone, without the small-town drama...but we are starting to miss our family/friends. we don't really have anyone down here. also, while i moved here, my mom had another kid, so i have a 3 year old sister i want to get to know better.
should i really pick up and move back there to be with all the people i love? or stay in florida with the perfect mix of storms/sand/sun and alone time? please help!!

I grew up in MI, and have since moved to NY and all my family is still there. While I will admit that when I was growing up I couldn't wait to get out now that I am I miss it! I miss the pace of life there, I miss my family, my friends, I miss a lot. Coming from someone who is sort of in your situation I do have to say that if the opportunity for me to move back came up (my husband doesn't want to live there) I would in a heartbeat. Being with my family that I'm now raising along with the family that raised me would be heaven to me. It's hard being so far away from those you love. You don't have to necessarily move to the exact same town, you could move nearby where you've still got your privacy/alone time. Do some research on places to live & work in the towns & cities within an hour or two from where your family is. An hour or two drive on the weekends isn't so bad compared to expensive driving or flying from FL & back.

Well, I live in Michigan. I love it here, the small towns are the bomb. Family is important. The weather last winter was very mild. The only problem is, there are not a lot of jobs in MI right now, and the neighbors all know when you change your toilet paper roll. I often wish I lived out of state....I guess if I were you, I'd stay in Florida...

i imagine Obama is of the opinion that he can win MI and FL in spite of the nomination wrestle if he's the candidate. He has some foundation for that perception, in that Clinton supporters will have a tendency to help the party as against letting McCain into place of work. He needs the delegate chop up 50/50 because a) meaning extra internet delegates for him, on account that he were given NONE in MI and easily about 35% in FL and b) it helps him to circumvent a lengthy, severe priced marketing campaign swing in those states.

Go to West Michigan. It has beautiful, sandy beaches without the salt water, sharks, or hurricanes. Michigan probably has as many beaches as Florida, if not more.
