You don't understand the ACLU's purpose. It is not to take God out of everything -- only those things where religious ideas are not appropriate. That includes places like the public schools. On the other hand, if the State were to try to mess with goes on in your favorite church, the ACLU would be all over them. (Digression: I am not a member of the ACLU.)

I like the ACLU a lot, they stick up for observing the Constitution. They don't want to take God out of everything, they just do not want Big Government pushing God on everybody instead of taking care of government business. You are totally free to relate to God however you want and one big reason is because people like the ACLU keep Big Government from dictating how you must relate with God. Consider Latin America, where you must be Catholic, or the Middle East, where you must be Muslim. Count your blessings!
