Most opt for consulting. All you need is to fill in at two or three places, and you're filled the gap. Age discrimination is becoming an increasing problem as most employers do not want experience, they want the married to the job, 60 hour/week, easily influenced. They run 'em ragged, bump 'em a notch or two if worthy, and then push them out the door to their next employer. Good luck with it.
