I went in for an interview on a Wednesday. By the way, everything went great and she was telling me about the job as if I had the job already. She mentioned at the end that she would be calling people to schedule a time for them to come in and meet the staff to see if it was still something they wanted to do, and if she did not call this week for me to feel free to call on Monday because she is very busy and could forget. She said she would have her decision Tuesday most likely. No call through the week. So I work up the courage and call on Monday the day she suggested to call. She answers the phone and I tell her my name and ask how she is doing and before I can say anything else she says, "face of love" I am still interviewing people and have not had a chance to call anyone back yet, Okay. I said Okay, kinda defeated and hung up. I was shocked because she seemed bothered that I actually called her and it was an inconvenience to her. What do I do now? Do I wait for her to call again?

I would send a thank you letter to her thanking her for the interview, opportunity, and that you are still interested. At the same time, keep looking in case this one doesn't work out for you. Don't sit around and wait for her to make a decision. Some times people are slow to make decisions, some times interviewers don't know what to say in an interview so they begin discussing things about the job that may give some one the impression that they have the job. And, sometimes, they don't know how to tell someone that they have made another choice. Keep putting out the resumes and applications in other places and if you hear from her then great, if not you are checking to see what else is out there for you.
Good Luck!

As a person who was once in charge of hiring and human resources, I can tell you with over 90% confidence that she will not call you back or hire you. Reason being, after a week, whether or not interviews are done we've already decided whom we are going to hire and call back. And already with the tone you received when you called back is almost solid proof that you didn't get it. I would tell you, if you want to wait, wait. But I would also recommend you to look for something else instead of waiting all day long waiting for a call back. The only reason I would give you to wait, is if she was NOT in charge of hiring, but instead has to report to someone hiring up, which requires her to evaluate all of you and put a report together for them to think of whom to hire. And what the hell was that "face of love" about?

First send a thank you note for the opportunity to interview. Don't take her attitude personally. Wait until next monday, call back, and ask to leave a message for your interviewer. That way if she answers she knows you are interested, but show you respect her time.

properly seeing that they advised you in the course of the interview to call the subsequent day, i'd take it as a favorable aspect. because you've had difficulty getting the guy on the phone only go away a message. i don't think of he's heading off, he's possibly very busy.

I would send a e-mail or thank you note restating your interest in the position. She probably is still interviewing people and will make a decision soon. SHowing you are eager to work for them is a huge plus

I'd be more concerned with the face of love comment. That seems weird! Give her until the end of this week and if you do not hear anything, just move on.

Keep looking for a job. This may end up playing out, but don't stop just because this one may or may not work out.
