go to your local warehouse (like Sam's or Costco) and buy a matress and boxspring seperate. We have a memory foam matress (that ran us 500 bucks) and a box spring is only about 100 bucks at a warehouse. Any local buisness probably has a membership; I'm sure they would be glad to let you go with them on their next trip if you don't have a member ship-- get one soon! You will spend half as much in the long run.

WE have a Serta made in Clear Lake Iowa paid about $750 for the queen box spring and mattress and very satisfied with it. The only identification I could find PS Lexus and perhaps that is some identification of the one.

Firm Talalay Latex Mattress

Wool Fleece Pad

If needed, place a 4' x bed width 1/4" thick wood panel over the foot end of your present boxspring bedbase (not under the shoulder area) for more pushback support.

Why go the boxspring route?? A memory foam mattress on a platform is MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better! I realize Tempurpedic may be out of your price range, but there are other brands out there.

I recommend going into a local mattress shop and testing them. This is one thing you definately don't want to get based on others' opinions only. Everyone is different and has different needs. Find what works well for you.

Serta has pretty good mattresses, and they won't cost you an arm and a leg. For a good box spring, try your local furnature store.

It won't fit inside! And strapping something that big, with so much bulk to your roof is an accident waiting to happen.
