As long as there's an answer, no question is meaningless.
The closest thing to a meaningless question I've seen is probably your's.

what is a meaningless questiion? i was always told there are no stupid questions. but yours is sort of in that realm. you have to be a little more specific on the what you mean when you say meaningless.

not all people are as smart as you.... they all grew up from many different backgrounds, some may even be very shy to ask in open public, only when they have chances in cyber like yahoo answers... then they start questioning and asking... but too bad... we got all the silly questions but still giving them answers.. just for the 2 points...

1) they want to earn points on this Yahoo question/answer thing so they can level up
2) because they NEEEEED/WANT attention
3) beacuse they want to see how others would respond to dumb meaningless questions
