Every other state I've been to allows people to pump it themselves and there is no problem. In fact, I don't even know of one where a full-service station even is!

Oregon does it too.

It was started back in the 50s as a safety issue, they were worried about people who didnt know what they were doing trying to pump gas and starting fires or getting it all over their car.

NJ really does not allow you to pump your own gas? There are days that I wish some one would pump my gas for me.

Because it has fallen to liberals and is becoming a "Nanny State" that must protect people from themselves. The same occurred in Oregon. One dolt catches himself on fire at the pump and the whole state gets regulated.

NJ and CA feel that you are not able to pump your gas properly without releasing harmful vapors into the air. So now they have specially trained people who do it for you so they can charge you more in taxes to train and employ these people.

Because NJ needs jobs so they made a law that requires a gas attendant to fill your gas tanks. They’ll do anything to make jobs in that state.
