You listed most of the big, obvious ones. Here are a few you'd probably enjoy that you haven't listed:

-The .Hack series
-Chrono Trigger/Chrono Cross
-Fire Emblem
-Suikoden
-The Elder Scrolls (Morrowind, Oblivion, etc)

Personally, I have a few favorites that I reccomend if you are looking for games. Final Fantasy is an obvious choice, and famous for a reason. There are others, though, that are often overlooked.

On the computer, my favorite is the Fallout series (1 and 2). There is also a sequel called Fallout Tactics, which is not an RPG but an RTS. Fallout is set in a post-apocalyptic world, but it is a true old school RPG with turn based combat and everything. The storyline is fantastic.

On consoles, the Earthbound (or "Mother" in Japan) series is a favorite as well. Unfortunately only one of the games was released in America (Earthbound for the SNES), but you can find a translated version of the original Japanese game Mother for the NES online if you look hard enough. These games are set in present day, with a sci-fi twist. A good site for info about these games is www.starmen.net

If you are looking for fantasy-themed RPGs, most of them are pretty much the same. You can grab just about any one off the shelf and the weapons, armor, traits, skills, setting, etc. will be nearly identical. Games with innovation (in my opinion anyway) include Final Fantasy, of course, and Chrono Trigger.

My personal favorite console series of all time is Harvest Moon. It is sort of half RPG, half simulation. The idea is, you run a farm - but don't turn away just yet. The game is amazingly addicting, and some of the ones in the series have fantastic depth and storylines, as well as variety of play. Friends of Mineral Mountain is my favorite of that series, for the Game Boy Advance.

Good luck finding something you like!

I request Xenosaga. As an independent RPG researcher, I found that the Xenosaga series has not had the spotlight it needs. Battle systems, story lines, characters, to graphics it's got to be the best Namco release yet. With everytihng in between, it makes a best friend for any true RPG lover, or addict. But it is the kind of RPG that you must come accustomed to. Hard to beat, I know because I have 1&2 and will be getting 3. I must recommend that you play all the episodes in the order they come in. It will make the most out of the game for you. May I also ask that you recommend it to friends & family. Enjoy one of the best RPG's ever!!

Ohh that's a toughy!

My favorites were the Dragon Warriors for NES, Final Fantasy Legends (1-3) for GameBoy, and Final Fantasy for the NES and SNES.

Dragon Warrior 3 (NES), and Final Fantasy 3 (SNES) were by far the greatest console RPGs ever, sporting excellent character customization so the game never gets old.
