The meaning of life is to leave the world a better place than you found it.

ha ha. I believe the meaning of life is just that everyone has that someone to have, everyone has the people that "complete" them as friends or significant others that enrich they're lives in ways they truely can not understand, but in the end, before death it all comes together and they understand this, but can't tell anyone because they know that it'll ruin the surprise.
or it could be 42... just kidding

I guess, the answers can range from scientific theories, to philosophical, theological, and spiritual explanations.

The challenge is to live Life truthfully. And the meaning will truly unfold before you.

To spend every minute, everyday with someone special and see him waking up right next to me in the morning, share feelings and thoughts with each other and he always consider my feelings before making any decision......that's pretty much the meaning of life to me....... too hard to find someone like this...

The purpose of our existence on this earth , is to search for our God. We hav'nt, come to this world just out of nothing. Something has to create us ,as unique as the way we are. The whole of the universe is filled with the almighty God's power and glory! And the only thing we have to do , is to just quit looking at ourselves, and open our spiritual eyes, our inner vision to fathom this never ending mystery! This is the purpose of our lives. To understand our maker , our creator.

I'll cite a beautiful poem 'Gitanjali' written by the great sage and mysticist, Rabindranath Tagore. The whole of the poem is a prayer , the expression of his indepth love for his maker. The poem is a very long prayer & Im here citing the song sequence numbered 11 . In it he speaks about the ways of finding God, to understand Him. The poem goes as followes. He sings:

" Leave this chanting and singing and telling of bead!
Whom dost thou worship in the lonely dark corner of a temple with doors all shut?

Open thine eyes and see thy God is not before thee!
He is there where the tiller is tilling the hard ground and where the path maker is breaking the stones. He is with them in sun and in the shower and His, garment is covered with dust. Put off thy holy mantle and even like Him come down on the dusty soil!

Deliverance? Where is this deliverence to be found ? Our master Himself has joyfully taken upon Him the bonds of creation; He is bound with us all forever.

Come out of thy meditations and leave aside thy flowers and incense! What harm is there if thy clothes become tattered and stained? Meet Him and stand by Him in toil and in sweat of thy brow."

The only way he has found out, to fathom God, is through serving the lowest of the lowly. Understanding that The Holy Bible, The Holy Quaran, The Chathur vedas and the all the holy scriptures ever written, points to the same God & His only son Jesus Christ who would come to save the world, is the ultimate knowledge that we could attain. Our search for God reaches a completion in this knowledge. Fathoming the nature of our God is beautiful enough , but knowledge without actions is only futile. For that we'll have to serve the poor , the lowest of the lowly and serve & glorify our God through them.

To answer life's infinite question with life's infinite answer. So if the world ended tomorrow and you asked why. I would want to be the guy that died asking why not.

It's a silly question. That's why it gets silly answers.

Don't dismiss Douglas Adams. He was a brilliant guy, and we can learn a lot from him.
