Constraints on our attention and on our influence on our environment limit the amount of change that we can create. Quitting your cashier job at Walmart to become a lawyer is not realistic. But taking night classes so that you may clerk at a law firm, which supports a full-time course load to get your law degree is more feasable. Moreover, we are encumbered by other demands/liabilities like family, health or residual issues from misguided choices in the past.
That said, large changes in our lives, as well in the lives of organizations, are more commonly made possible from an accumulation of adjustments, each of which make further adjustments more likely or more possible.
It's time that allows these changes to happen, since we are limited to what we know and can learn as we go along. It can't all happen at once.

Time is not the only factor, but it is the surest element for allowing the steps towards success to be possible outside of pure luck.
