My all-time favorite is probably Speed. There’s something about the film’s relentless pace of action and the incredible suspense in such a high-concept vehicle (pardon the pun) that always keeps you on the edge of your seat even after repeated viewings. Plus, Keanu and Sandra’s chemistry is incredible, Dennis is one of the funniest screen villains ever, and the sequences are a few of the most creative ones of the decade. Current close contender would be this year’s Cars, which very, very likely will be my movie of the year (we’re only halfway through the year, so you know that it’s THAT good). Automotive and Pixar aficionados will have plenty inside-jokes to spot, but the film has an huge amount of heart too. Other favourites include the explosive Die Hard Trilogy (McClane’s never-say-die spirit is always motivational), The Rock (Bruckheimer, no-holds-barred), Narnia (if you liked Lord of the Ring, you'll love this! Truly awe-inspiring), Lion King (awesome saga, wins title of most romantic love song ever), Spirited Away (you like Princess Mononoke? Miyazaki does it again, he redefines the word ‘beautiful’ in this Japanese smash-hit) and Lilo & Stitch (Stitch being the cutest Disney character in ages). You’ve just gotta watch these, you won’t regret it!

You are pretty young, right? Lord of the Rings is a great favourite to last your whole life. My favourite from my youth is "The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner", an english movie from the sixties.
"Crash" is a great movie for the right age group and will stand the test of time like LOTR.

Fight Club
It is one of the best because of the dialog and it just shows a movie about what everyone has thought of doing but does not go all the way. Many classic lines.
This is your life and it is ending one minute at a time.
