herm, don't think Jesus was around when the Republican party started.
I don't think Jesus could get into politics when he was on earth - he was a refugee in present-day Egypt, then talked in Roman-held lands. I would think in both places he wouldn't have a say at all about politics, although he did say that government should be respected (pay your taxes to the man on the coin).
Democrat or Republican based on views? good question. I think you could go either way on this. Obviously, he had christian values ;-), but he was very anti-establishment and raised a lot of eyebrows in what he did (democrat nod). You could go either way. I don't think he'd pick sides if he was around now :-)

One thing for sure, he did not like money changers. Apparently they were defauding and cheating the masses. Sounds a little like the Halliburton 'money changers' to me.

i do not think that he was affiliated with any political parties. especailly considering that neither party was established at the time of Christ, and for the fact, neither was the U.S. so trying to label someone is really rather pointless...

First, they say he would be a liberal, not a conservative......but my thought is that he was neither....he would be more of a middle of the road....maybe a Libertarian in the USA.......then again......I doubt he would bother with politics.....I don't think it would interest him....
