Isn't it in your textbook? When I was in college the info plus diagrams were in the book. Also note the difference between dsl and adsl

I can tell you a huge disadvantage from personal experience- it's lack of reliability. One thunderstorm comes along and bam! No connection!

Ah. Here I found a decent article about it. Should really help you out

DSL stands for Digital Subcriber Line. This is where the phone line is used to provide a faster speed for using the internet. Verizon or other phone companies have DSL and if you get a hold of there general information for new subscribers that would be a start.

Good Luck

Here you go, this should get you off to a start. Now, all I did was put this into the yahoo search box "how dsl works". I received many resourse links with howstuffworks being one of many. So, use this link and then put those search words into the Yahoo search engine with the parenthises around them. The parenthises will keep the search to a particular phrase.

i know that Bellsouth DSL is only offered in a 9 state region that is in the south. it covers NC,SC, GA, FL, AL, AR, KY, TN, LA. i know that Bellsouth DSL is not offered to everyone in that 9 state region, bc you have to be within 18000 feet of the central office. you must also have a landline in order to have DSL.

You can actually call verizon DSL and ask them whatever you want! They'll answer, I've done it when I've had computer problems.
