I will be 38 weeks pregnant Wednesday and have been having a lot of cramps this past couple days. Is this normal or a sign of anything to come in a second pregnancy?

I have a doctor appointment tomorrow. At my doctor appointment last Tuesday I was 2cm dilated and -1 station.

YEs. Those can be an early sing as to labor is startring. It could also be braxtin hicks contracts. Don't worry about it to much get some rest because you are going to need it soon. And enjoy the birth of your Child. Congradulations and good luck. Oh now is a good time to make sure there is gas in the car so you can get to the hopsital in the middle of the night if you have to.

It doesn't mean anything about what's to come in a second pregnancy. It's because you're dilating so don't worry. Only be concerned if your mucas plug falls out because then you could go into labor. Which really isn't a big deal because you are far along enough. just pay attention to sevarity of them. My contrations felt like regular cramps the day I went into labor. I went shopping because I didn't know I was in labor! it started at 9 am and I just wnet about my day, hit the grocery store and rented some movies. by 5pm though the little cramps were about 3 minutes apart, but still didn't feel like contractions! Called my doctor just in case and he told me to run my butt to the ER. By 7:36 pm I was a mother. Anyways, just listen to your body and if you feel something isn't right, call your doctor! Every women experiances labor in their own way, so you may not know when you really are in labor.

That was for me a sign that the baby was on it's way. I left work early one day, because I felt that way and I couldn't concentrate on anything, stayed home the next day, and that night went to the hospital because things had progressed. (water broke) But there were some occasions in the week prior to that when I had a pain in my back also.

sounds like braxton-hicks contractions getting everything set up for labor . . plus the pressure you care having now will cause cramping . . if you have any kind of bloody show or water breakage, go to labor and delivery . . . otherwise, wait til you see your doctor tomorrow

This is very normal. Your body is prepairing for labor and you might be dilating somemore. You are doing good to have dialted 2cm already. You go girl!!!

Sounds like maybe you are starting to have some practice contractions (Braxton Hicks) to begin to prepare your body for labor! Nothing to worry about!

Sounds like early labor pains. Good thing you are seeing the doctor. You sound like you are pretty close to delivery.

Yes they are called braxton hicks, when they get stronger they may be real contractions

Cramps...what kind? Do they feel like really harsh period cramps? If so, this sounds like contractions.
