My cousin constantly asks me questions he knows the answers to, how does he know the answers to them? because I stated the answer sometime earlier that same day. (He is also the type to jump into a conversation he is not apart of, such as il be on the phone and in the background he's throwing in his two cents). I find this extremely annoying. Is he being rude? am I over reacting? or is there a term for this type of person?

these are people that have the psychological need to feel intellectually superior to others. i don't think he's consciously trying to be rude. he may have a personality disorder like narcissitic personality disorder, or it may be a "god complex". or he simply may just be a "one up-er" either way he is annoying but since he's family just go along with it but don't get upset or frustrated. just laugh with yourself or the other family members that probably agree with you. i think most family members have one as well.

They may be too smart, right, like their parents jam packed thier little heads so full of junk and knowledge, that the poor kid didn't get a chance to learn for themself. So what you see is all that know it all crap comming out, and as its happening, the person is really learning whether you like them or if that overly-smart communication is even working for them. Right, they are very trusting as a child, so everything they have been taught is what they know, believe, and is all they can offer you, the cousin. The best way to help is to truly understand this person and tell them like it is. They will get it unless, they will only get it as according to how many bridges they burn so to speak.
These kids have been taught according to the old ways; dont do that or youll shoot your eye out; so they know the answer already, they just dont know what its like to shoot their eye out or why it could happen or some point to that reasoning that wasn't taught to them. So it appears that they know. Just be nice ok.
