It's the american law. That woman made that choice to have an abortion, that woman walking across the street did not ask to be ran down by a drunk driver. So I ask u who had a choice?

ABORTION IS MURDER. I DON'T KNOW HOW PEOPLE CAN SAY IT ISN'T, ITS A LIVING BEING GROWING INSIDE OF A WOMAN. THAT MEANS ITS LIFE. THEREFORE IF YOU KILL IT IT IS MURDER. IT DOESN'T MATTER THAT ITS NOT BORN YET, ITS STILL LIFE. ONLY SOMETIMES DO PEOPLE GET CHARGED W/ 2 DEATHS IF THEY KILL A PREGNANT WOMAN, IT SHOULD BE 2 MURDER CHARGES IN EVERY STATE NOT JUST SOME. I THINK THAT'S BULLSH!T. THERE IS NEVER AN EXCUSE TO TAKE A INNOCENT BABIES LIFE WHETHER THEY ARE ALL READY BORN YET OR NOT. EVEN IF I WAS PREGNANT AND HAVING THE BABY WOULD RISK MY LIFE I WOULDN'T CARE, ID HAVE THE BABY NO MATTER WHAT. MY BABIES LIFE IS WORTH MORE THAN MINE. AND IF I WERE PREGNANT BY A RAPE I'D HAVE THE CHILD, MAYBE KEEP IT BUT POSSIBLY GIVE IT UP FOR ADOPTION. IVE BEEN RAPED BEFORE SO I KNOW WHAT ITS LIKE TO GO THROUGH IT, BUT I COULD NEVER KILL AN INNOCENT BABY.

Someone is charged with the death of an unborn child only if it is more than 24 weeks along - that is the law. You can not get an abortion past 12 weeks, so you are not LEGALLY killing anyone.
They base that on the probability of an unborn child surviving outside the womb. It is somewhat possible at 24 weeks, it is impossible at 12 weeks.
Before you go throwing the law around, KNOW the law.

If you are looking for logic in laws, sorry. I think that one slipped through, probably when a woman near delivery time was killed and the baby also lost.
Even many of we pro-choicers cringe at a viable fetus being terminated for any reason besides the absolute safety of the woman. Of course, religious fundamentalists would flog us for wasting our seed or ova, much less acting further in birth control.

Abortion is legal in this country, and is considered a choice that a woman has. Meanwhile, homicide by use of a motor vehicle, and drunk driving, are both considered illegal activity, punishible by law. That woman (per se) didn't "choose" to be killed, as if where she might coose to abort her baby. I, myself, am for pro choice. Everyone has the right to decide what is to be done with their body. Adoption or abortion.

i am pro choice, but i guess i never considered this fact. you make a VERY interesting point. however, doesn't the baby have to be so far along developmentally, in order to count as a person when trying someone for killing a pregnant woman?
i do believe that the woman should have the ultimate right to choose to keep or abort, since she will be the one carrying it, and it's her body.

interesting question. i'm prochoice. i wouldn't be disagreeing for someone being charged for 2 murders b/c i would have to assume the pregnant person would want the child. wow this does make me ponder why a person would be charged for 2 murders. thanks for making me think.
