Dubya, I think, really believes his fundamentalist stand. Remember, who covered his business operations and who put him into the White House. They really control what he hears and can do to a great extent.
It's their motives that worry me more than GWB's abilities.

I actually think he does....but he's actually against using scientific progress that'll help less fortunate (such as stem cells, for example).
He wants people to stay poor, stupid, superstitious, and disease-ridden.
