Do midges suck blood, or just bite you to be nasty?

A bunch of midges attacked me this weekend, and I want to know if they were feeding, or being mean.

They don't suck blood or bite you to be nasty, they transmit blood- bourne diseases.

They are a parasite and they were feeding off of you. Doesn't that make you feel special?

They're just following their instincts. They had no malicious intent but don't let that stop you from squashing them. (smiles)
