I think I took 15 one-hour lessons. Passed first time, four years ago. The most important thing to remember is to concentrate on what you're supposed to be doing, don't worry if there's a long tail-back of cars behind you... they can just wait! Good luck.

It varies between everyone out there. I'm 18, passed over a year ago after 3 and a half months of two 1-hour lessons a week and had about 33 lessons. Passed first time with 5 minors (can have 15 and no majors) of course I'm from UK so it would be different in the USA. It's not too bad, it's not like exams since the pressure's on when you study - with driving it's more relaxed.

So are you starting to go to driving school? I had to have 30 hours of driving school education. In addition to that, I had to have 6 hours of driving (3 times a week of 2 hours of driving) with an instructor.
After reaching the required number of hours (it was 40 for me, but it could be different for you), I scheduled my first driving test. I was really nervous, but if you take your time (you're only going 5-10 mph on the test track), you will be all right. Make sure that you look all around you (especially when you back up, doing the turnabout or pulling out of a parking place) because the driving test administrator is looking for that: I had some points taken off for that but still managed to pass very well.
You'll do fine. Don't get overly nervous and take your time! Best Wishes!! ^_^

I'm taking my test on 21 August after a 15 year gap. Passed my theory exam with flying colours - had about 200hrs of driving practice - not lessons. If you can perceive all the hazards ahead of you whilst driving - so much so that if you were to mention every hazard you saw driving and you ran out of breath, you are well on target to being a good driver, also always remember to check in your rear view mirrors whenever you see an approaching car or any hazard in front of you on the road and most especially look behind you when doing a reversing manoeuvre - you wouldn't believe the driving I've seen where drivers reverse round a corner just by looking in their mirrors! - yeah really safe! - Good luck for your driving.

12 lessons and 2 tests!!
If i was you i would think about pass plus too, it is very good at bulding your confidence in you driving ability.
Also bear in mind, that everyone learns at a different pace. Rather han rushing into a test take your time. Cos if you fail you feel awful.
My frind failed 6 tests in just under 2 years!! She had 2 lessons a week aswell.
Good Luck though, hope you enjoy it!

It really varies from person to person - some people have a quick grasp and some have big co-ordination problems. Best thing is to get a good patient instructor ,that way you have dual controls to give you confidence and the right info ( eg test route practice) and techniques to get you through the test. You also don't have to worry about damaging your (or your parents/friend's) car! Usually, they say you can expect to need at least one lesson for every year of your age!

6 driving lessons and 6 week instruction course in high school, passed 98% first try.... its easy ... biggest advice i give to all new drivers is the car is not a phone booth or bathroom, so no putting on the makeup while driving and no using the cell phone.. you need 100% attention to safely drive

10 classes i cleared the test ,In the test the Road transport officer asked me to start the vehicle and run in first gear and asked me to stop the vehicle .I did it in the first attempt and i got my licence after that i did not drive the car so far since i came abroad .But during the starting the car and moving, the engine shouldnt experience jerk or he would have failed me ,and while stopping stop in the side after showing slowing down hand signals .,this applies only to india ,other rules may vary .They asked my friend to run the vehicle in reverse gear ,so the test is purly random .U should know minimum basics. He may even ask to read symbols which driving lessons teacher will tell u more

I had lessons over several years on and off until I came across a great teacher who made me feel so relaxed.
passed on my 4th attempt as I got soooo nervous. Someone recommended a herbal remedy called Bach's Flower's you spray it on your tongue and it keeps you calm. You can get it from Sainsbury's.
My daughter passed first time.
Good Luck.
