I know it's difficult at this age to find a boyfriend. I have a 16 year old daughter so this is the advice I'd also give (and have given!) her.

It may sound corny, but don't be in a rush to find a boyfriend. Try just having friends for now. There are so many pressures on our kids today it's difficult to make all the right decisions and know if you're hanging out with friends who won't steer you wrong.

If you have interests or belong to any school clubs or organizations those are also great places to start. You'll share common interests that may be the best way to find a boy who will like you for what you are and also appreciate your interests. Your local church youth group would be a great place to start. There are many teenagers there.

For who you are not what you are...

What are you? Oops. That's not an answer.

there is no such thing as who you are. Boys will like you for whatever they make up about you. Identify what it is you really want. Attention, affection, a friend. be committed to having the things you really want, not the things you think are what you want.
For example. You say you want a bf. Answer "What is it that a bf will offer that i don't have right now" and you will identify what you want. It's not the boyfriend, it's what you thinka boyfriend can give you. Which 9 out of 10 cases, is a hard time, some lies, and lots of pressure to give up your goodies. You sure you want a bf ? Maybe you can take on some other things in life first.

At 13, guys will tell you all sorts of things, but they only want one thing. Why? Because they're immature. You're going to have to get older. Oh, and if you find some guy who is a lot older than you, and interested? He only wants one thing too, and he's a little messed up if he wants a kid. Protect yourself, learn to be happy with yourself and not needing a boyfriend.

You're 13, it's likely that you don't even know who you are yet. Just focus more on yourself during this time in your life. A boyfriend will come along eventually, though it's likely you won't find someone who's truly interested in who you are until quite some time.

Sweetie, at age 13 you probably aren't going to find one that likes you for who you are. It is unfortunate but true. Be patient and as you get older you may find one that likes you for both reasons.

I am curious? What are you?

I would say try church youth groups, somewhere like that that all the people aren't super shallow. You still will have some that are, but maybe you can find a real person there.

First off, be careful posting stuff like that on line for everyone to read. There are alot of perverts out there. My son is your age so I know boys can be mean at times to girls. Be proud of who you are! You will find someone when the time is right. Please be careful!

you are far too young to find a boy who will like you for who you are. why don't you try picking up a book instead of a boyfriend.

You don't need a boyfriend, you need to find happiness inside yourself. A boyfriend will not make you happy. Find the person inside of you and your soulmate will find you and you will be happy forever!
