Do you have a specific piece in mind? The generic answer is that man is a fallen creature because he has separated himself from God, and the plan God set out for mankind. Man is held under the bonds of sin, and can only be free through the redeption of a savior. email me at jennbrehob@yahoo.com and let me know which book you are reading...that may give me a better window through which to answer your question.

You are studying literature? You might try studying the dictionary and how to spell. However, the Puritans were strict followers of the Holy Bible and when Adam and Eve sinned the "original sin" then mankind was doomed forever to sin. So therefore..man will continue to be a "fallen creature" until he is redeemed and forgiven by God.
