not sure about what is the best product for in the yard, if that is where they are, but if they are in the house, I know of a few remedies. Yes, full strength Lysol will HELP, but there are some other things you can do. Cinnamon is a great deterrent for ants. I use ground cinnamon and create a "barrier" around the outside of my house, paying special attention to doors and any other entry points i.e. window sills, close to drainage pipes. Also, cinnamon sticks can be put in dresser drawers, in cabinets, behind sofas and in pantries. Plus, it makes your house smell yummy!! I've heard that either vinegar or ammonia will do the trick, but never tried them as I am not a big ammonia fan. Hope this helps

Go to a drug store and track down a glass bottle of the original Lysol brand concentrate. The already diluted stuff in the plastic bottle doesn't work. Wipe down the surface or put in your own spray bottle and spray it undiluted. It totally messes up their communications system and they go away.
