When I am traveling down the highway I hear a lot of wind noise? I think my car (Toyota Camry) was wrecked but the dealer (Toyota) didn't tell me. How can I seal the windshield to cut down on some of the noise?

If you're sure it is the windshield making the noise go to an autoglass replacement shop and buy a tube of urethane. (about 15.00) With a caulking gun run a small bead of urethane around the top and sides of the glass from the INSIDE. You may have to remove the interior side pillar post moldings and have someone help you hold the headliner down. Then, with a rubber glove on, run your finger around the glass to press the bead into the crack between the glas and the body. Next step is to remove the cowl panel at the bottom of the windshield on the OUTSIDE and run a thick bead of urethane along the bottom of the glass. Again use your gloved finger to smooth and press the urethane in. Let everything dry and reassemble. Good Luck!

Hello,

you need a rubberised cement, there is either bostik, or Silastic to choose from that I know of. Run the cement around all rubber seals on the outside of the screen, and be sure to keep it off the glass! Thinnersor nail poklish remover will remove delinquent cement. Car may not necessarily have been a wreck; could be seals are worn, or poor fitiing of screen initially. Good Luck!

It should be done by a pro but if you want to try you must remove the moulding around the windsheild and seal all the way around the edge of the glass and body of the car then replace the mouldings wait for the urethane to dry and go for a ride to see if it worked

Clear silicone (the kind to assemble fish tanks) Waterproof- would work, It may be the seals around the doors, too. Can you see the wind?.... Or do your just hear it?
