I just recently did a bandwidth test, and I closed all open programs, and anything that uses the internet. The company I use for cable and internet gets a maximum of 15 megs per second.

yes that is fast. You dont really need any faster for any type of streaming. The fastest connection speed i have ever gotton was about 3.5mb and i was amazed.

The speed is also dependent on how many people are connected to the same line as you (normally called the contention ratio) and also how far away from your local telephone exchange or green box. The further away, the slower the maximum connection will be.

hope this helps!

Man, if you're getting that kind of speed at home, then you're doing real good. Best I can do is 5 megs.
And for gaming, pile on the RAM.
