I would probably seek the advice of another pediatrician on this . . a second opinion won't hurt . . . is he really breaking vessels in his eyes or do you just think he is . . . do you do anything to help calm him down? if I were you, a second opinion for a ped and not someone on here is what I would be looking for . . . good luck

I agree with Jennifer.
And the "rebooting" part is just nature. Our bodies will not let us go without air for too long. We can hold our breath for a long time, but when the brain says it's time to breathe, we will pass out and the brain will take over and start breathing again. At least you know that function works.
I'd definitely look into another pediatrician. I'm glad your doc tried to make you feel better by making light of the situation, but he should have recognized that it is pretty serious to you and not joked around about it. Did he explain why this happens? Did he give you any tips to calm your son down? A second opinion certainly doesn't hurt and may make you feel better, but you'll know what's right and what's not.

Has your ped. told you to blow in his face when he is doing that? My sistet's baby did that and when she blew in her face she would be forced to take a breath. I would get a second opinion anyway and have some tests done just to make sure. My niece had some brain scans done, etc. and she turned out just fine. Just a faze. Good Luck!!

My sister's son did this whilst he grew to become into very unwell in the wellbeing facility with meningitis. They informed her after he had long gone 24 hours without an episode that he ought to pass domicile. She grew to become into terrified, so she bough a snooze apnea computer screen--it grew to become right into a action-sensing pad that went in the crib and might seem an alarm if he did not pass for a quantity of time. He grew to become into high quality and not in any respect fairly mandatory it, in spite of the incontrovertible fact that it helped her sleep greater perfect. See hyperlink decrease than.

Every baby has these spells, called apnea, whether you notice them or not. They usually start breathing again before they start to turn blue though. I would talk to another doctor because your is not being that helpful.

My niece was born with a bad temper, she started throwing things when she didn't get her way at 3 months. Some kids are born with tempers, and the smarts to carry it out. :)
