I just took and passed the NC real estate exam! :D Now I'm going to start talking with brokers in my area and try to find a job. First on my list is to see the broker who taught my RE class. I've known him for 6 months now. I even clean his house every other week, so I see him regularly. He wanted me to call him after I passed the state exam to talk about what I need to do next, and to see if I would like to work in his office if there is a desk available. I'll be going to his office to talk about these things either today or tomorrow. What should I wear when I go talk to him? I know that their office is not super formal. They don't wear suits or anything. I've seen one of the guys working there in a polo shirt and khaki pants. I've even seen the broker in charge wearing jeans in the office, so it is more casual than you might would think. SO... What should I wear when going to this interview? Thanks for your help!

Wear a good suit. Always dress at least one step above the job.

Still wear a suit. Even though you don't have to dress formal if you get the job, you should always look nice for the interview. It shows that you put effort into it and that you really want the job. Plus, you can always wear the suit to another interview if that one doesn't pan out. It doesn't have to be head to toe black, make it a nice summer suit. Maybe a gray, with pink pinstripes, with a girly camisole on underneath. And since the office is casual, you can probably get away with some high heeled sandals instead of heels so you don't look super formal. You can dress a suit up or down, depending on which way you need to go. But definitely invest in a nice suit. Especially now that you have your real estate license.

BTW, congrats on getting that! The NC real estate exam is quite an accomplishment!

You should wear proper office attire, because you're being judged on appearence as well as skills. With interviews, and office environments, you are better off keeping your attire on the conservative side, because otherwise people don't take you seriously.
Neutral colors, like beige, blue, or grey are the best. Don't wear pastels, since they are not considered professional, or excessively femenine and/or frilly blouses.
Since the office tends to be semi-casual, you could go with a combination of nice, dress slacks, and a button-down. If you go for skirts, I suggest a suit.
Shoes should be closed, leather. No sneakers.
Good luck.

Even the office attire is casual, you don't want to come to the interview dressed casual. However, I do think you can pull it off without a suit. Perhaps a blouse and nice, knee-length skirt, preferably a dark color like navy blue or black, and a white blouse, house, heels, some pearls. You'll be fine.

each time which you pass to an interview would not rely the place, you would be wanting to gown and contemporary your self to be respectful so truthfully no denims or turn flops. i might placed on a valuable button down shirt and a few khaki pants (confirm you're ironed) and valuable residences or heels (not scuffed on suitable of the shoes). No open toe. some people interviewing or hiring see this as an sanitary element. weird and wonderful i comprehend yet I sort of get it. you would be wanting to smile act fascinated and ask questions! good success!

honestly, if you know this person, and you know their office is not that formal, I would not wear a full suit. Wear something very nice, something that would be appropriate in that business envioronment.
If you are a guy, you can wear a short and tie, just skip the jacket.
You want to appear professional, but not overdressed.

Regardless of what the office attire standard may be, you are seeking a profesional position and should dress accordingly. A nice dress or skirt and blouse or even slacks and a nice blouse should be fine. Nothing too short, too tight, or too revealing.

Good luck.

I agree with the suit. You can dress less formally after you get the job.

A suit.

He needs to see that you can pull it off. It's easy to dress casually, not everyone can dress up. There certainly will be times when you have to wear a suit so show him you can.
