I assume a wheel balancing would take into account any problems with the tires themselves (belt seperation), including rims (warped rims). A recent alignment should have noted any problems with the ball joints and loose steering components.
The only thing left to be addressed would then be worn shocks.

Suspension bushes, Wheel bearings If front wheel drive, could be gearbox mount or drivetrain "down" from gearbox. Is engine missing at certain speeds and leading you to believe it is front end?
Good Luck

Have you checked upper and lower ball joints. these sometimes become loosen and cause many headaches before they are chosen as the problem of the vibration.
