There are no "web police" per se, but there are watchdog groups, etc, that
(try to) regulate content.
How did you feel threatened? Threatened as in by a stalker?
If so, you should contact the police (who can do nothing but don't want
to feel left out) and the FBI.
If you think its useful, you might want to contact the people who run
the site - usually on the front, there is a "Contact Us" thing to click on,
but if not you can send e-mail to webmaster@XXX where XXX is
everything after the www. in the URL. For instance, on THIS site, you
could send e-mail to webmaster@yahoo.com.
(Gee, I wonder if the thought police will remove that e-mail address)
There are certain sites (myspace.com comes to mind) that have multiple
pages dealing with how users should handle suspected abuse.
If you have parents to talk to about this, you should certainly talk to them
first.

Actually if you feel threatened go to the FBI online and report it on internet threats and stalking there is a space where you explain what happened. Also trace the site to its orgin and find what city and state if you can and report to the local authories there on the internet crimes unit most police stations have those units now.

That's bad. Report it to the internet service provider if you can figure that out through "contact us" or domain name registration.
Here's a hint. You use an offensive i.d. Change it. Don't visit sites where you might get a reaction to it....like this one.

Unfortunaly, nobody regulates the internet, as its too vast. basically impossible I believe.
However, just simply stop visiting this website, and don't give out personal details to people online, as you never know who you are really talking to.

I'm not sure how a website can threaten you? A website can't kill you... Just don't go there anymore.

Is the threat from someone you know?
Is the threat from someone that knows you?
Is the threat from someone that knows where you live?
If you answered "yes" to any questions from the above, contact your parents immediately.
