It all depends on how big the cottage is, what time of year you want to rent it and where it is The further north in France you are the cheaper it will be for example Brittany is usually cheaper than the Cote ' D' Azur. If value for money was what you are looking for then it is worth checking out Thomson Al Fresco - they have very sizabe and comfortable portable homes on well appointed sites.

They have all the home comforts and are all situated in areas with loads to do on your doorstep - particularly handy if you have kids.

I have just done a search and was able to get a week for £250!!
