Vinegar. Just dip your quill or some pointed object in it and write on paper. You put it over a lighted candle for the written letter to show through. It will look like an antique parchment written by your ancestor.

Simple: use lemon juice and a toothpick to write MSG and hold paper over a light bulb and it darkens to the point of being legible.

Use lemon juice. It dries invisible but when you heat it with a match it turns brown.
