Which music group do you think is the best and most followed on Earth, ever. And which country seems best at making them. Try to keep the groups well known, as we all know its only really the English speaking groups who make it big. By the way, my personal favorite is Queen, so saying that they are crap is a good way not to get best answer.

The Beatles have had the single biggest influence on popular music. England had an incredible run of great musicians for a long time. Between the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, (followed by the Who, Led Zeppelin, and Eric Clapton) England absolutely dominated the 60s and early 70s. BUT...............what people often forget is that both of those bands were inspired by lesser-known American acts. Chuck Berry was a huge influence on the Beatles, and the Stones were obsessed with old blues artists like John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, and Robert Johnson. Check out the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame website, or better yet, try to go there. You'll need 2 days to see everything, but it's an incredible history of music.

I think as most that most of the best groupls came out in the 60 - 80's

So you can include. The Kinks, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Beach Boys, Eagles, Led Zep, Cream, Thin Lizzy, Sabbath, Supertramp !, ABBA, Queen, The Clash, The Who, The Sex Pistols, The Ramones, Pink Floyd, The Stooges, Stone Roses, Oasis, You can go on and on.

As for which is the best it would be difficult to seperate they all have there own plus' and flaws. The Only thing i will say is that at least they all played there music.

I would not like to see the likes of the Spice Girls, Pussycat dolls, Westlife or any of them. enter a top list for the best bands ever, too me thay are just manufactured marketing tools. What was wrong with the Odd looking Bass player or the Hairy arsed Drummer, This is part of what made these people so good, they where ugly but bloody good at making music. That made them human, They where you Neighbour's when you where a kid, they where playing all the crappy Pubs and bars trying to get a record deal, THEY WHERE NORMAL !

For me Queen is up there, but not my favourite, it would be between the stones, the who and the clash.

I would have to say the most followed would be "The Rolling Stones" After all they do still tour. Another group who still tour is "The Who" Cant say im a fan of the stones, but i am of the who. 2 great groups of the UK. Oh and dont forget "The Bee Gee's" They have written some great songs too.

The Rolling Stones, The Eagles or U2 for me......... Everyone in the world can sing one of their songs!!! and they have all survived Generation upon Generation, still releasing music!

And then you have Clapton & Springsteen both were in Bands Cream and The E Street Band but both of them have carved out amazing Solo Carears!

Just my Opinion but i'd say out of all of them "The Eagles" because they are still together now and they keep writing music that every generation loves

Queen rule, and although he's not Freddie the new Paul Rodgers stuff is good!

My Partner DJ's in his spare time....
The most requested group at parties is ABBA,
closely followed by Queen (personally I think they're absolutely fantastic............) Madness, Sex Pistols....... Then it gets a bit silly after that - Girls Aloud, Sugababes, Pussycat Dolls.

One of my personal favs next to Queen
(who by the way I think are absolutely fantastic........)
Did I already say that?????? -

has to be Thin Lizzy.........

UK seems to produce some brilliant groups.

ooh thats a tough question! out of you'r list, I like the 1st 4, and ABBA are okay, I guess, but not my thing. but I really cant choose a best band of all time, which is really what you're asking. You'd have to do a survey of the world's favourite bands for that!! my favourite has got to be the Chili's, no contest.

Queen are deffinitely up there. ;-)

But Lennon/ McCartney did write so many of the best known songs.

Although John Lennon's favourite album of all time was "Pet Sounds" by the Beach Boys.
